Clemens Hotel is a declared historical monument, situated above a classic gallery of traditional Dutch shops and restaurants. Each building in the block has it’s own personal gargoyle. Situated on top of the building, the job of the gargoyle is to ensure the safety of the building from passing evil spirits... Be sure to check out Clemens’ Gargoyle! Amsterdam, being one of the smaller cities in Europe, is unique in that most of the attractions remain within walking distance. The Dutch tram & bus transport system is cheap, reliable, easy to use and has returned many a foot weary guest back home to Clemens after an exciting day of traipsing the varied & exciting boroughs of Amsterdam.
